Why do ECE centres need a specialist outdoor
project team?

The biggest challenge with most ECE centre outdoor spaces is that they are designed by landscapers – we know because our background is landscaping!

Why? Because landscapers are GREAT at making outdoor spaces look fantastic, but 99% of their work does not have numerous little feet and hands that climb, kick, grab and hammer their designs to bits, five days a week, every week! This is why MOST outdoor areas in ECE centres must have specialist designs that can withstand this high level of wear and tear treatment. You'll notice this if you've ever had a renovation and seen how incredibly fast the new areas go back to looking like they did before.

Beyond durability, many modern specialist designs for ECE centres that make it easy for educators to integrate learning through play into their outdoor areas are not part of a standard landscaping design.
